A family-rooted journey to reimagine education for young, underrepresented learners.

How It All Began

From a School Project to a Movement

PBA was born from the shared dream of a mother-daughter duo, united by a powerful mission: to inspire and empower young minority children through education that reflects their brilliance.

In 2018, a simple astronomy school project sparked a bold new vision. Instead of imagining a stereotypical alien, our young co-founder envisioned an extraterrestrial who looked like her—a young girl with vibrant red and blue hair, symbolizing characteristics of the planet Mercury.

This character became more than just a figure. She was a beloved companion and study buddy, igniting curiosity and a newfound love for learning. Her impact inspired us to build something greater: a company dedicated to nurturing creativity, confidence, and curiosity through culturally relevant learning.

PBA is more than an educational company, it is a family-led mission. With contributions from three generations of the family, including our youngest family members, every voice adds perspective and heart to our work.

Guided by leaders in education and medical fields, we set out to address the gaps we witnessed firsthand:

Limited access to STEM
Lack of cultural representation
Missed opportunities to nurture the whole child

We are thrilled to announce that Pursuit of Brilliance Academy will open the doors to its very own Microschool in August 2025!

Our microschool will provide an enriching, whole-child learning experience where students engage in:

Keiaria Jackson, AS-HS, Student Nurse

Cofounder, CEO

Earned an Associate of Science in Science Health and is currently pursuing her BSN, expected in 2026. A dedicated scholar and honor society member, she brings both healthcare knowledge and leadership experience to her role as CEO of Pursuit of Brilliance Academy. She leads the organization’s vision, strategy, and growth, while empowering her team to deliver exceptional educational experiences.

Cshenal Jackson, Ed.D., AFCC

Cofounder, CFO

Earned her Doctorate in Education in 2021 and brings over 11 years of experience in education, 10 years in the financial industry, and 5 years in social work. Her diverse background blends academic leadership, financial strategy, and social impact. At PBA, she manages the organization’s finances, overseeing budgeting, planning, and reporting to support sustainable growth and mission alignment.

Trenel Jackson, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC

Cofounder, COO

A 2022 Doctorate of Nursing Practice graduate with 20 years of experience in the medical field and a strong military background. Dr. Jackson brings discipline, precision, and operational excellence to PBA, overseeing logistics, production, and day-to-day operations.

Maxine Lenford

Executive Director of HR Strategy & Design

With 25 years in Human Resources, Maxine leads PBA’s talent strategies with a focus on team building, organizational development, and employee engagement. Her leadership fosters a positive and inclusive workplace culture.

Patricia Walker, B.Psych.

Executive Director of Curriculum

With over 15 years in Early Childhood Education and prior experience in medical care, behavioral counseling, and school leadership, Patricia brings unmatched expertise in curriculum design, classroom innovation, and child development. She leads the creation of meaningful, standards-aligned content that supports the brilliance in every child.

Ambassador

At just 13 years old, Katelyn is a passionate advocate for female empowerment, education, and STEM. She brings bold, fresh insights into creative direction and product development that resonate with young learners, especially girls exploring science, technology, engineering, and math.

Junior Ambassador

Ten year-old Khloe brings vibrant energy, an authentic youth perspective, and a deep passion as a fine arts advocate. She plays a key role in ensuring our creative products are age-appropriate, inspiring, and engaging for young minds through the lens of artistic expression and imagination.

Junior Ambassador

At just four years old, Kobe offers a genuine youth perspective powered by curiosity and imagination. His love for technology, building, and racing Hot Wheels reflects the spirit of early innovation. From designing ramps to exploring new tools, he inspires hands-on discovery and joyful learning.
